BECA (born Becca Schack) is an LA based composer/producer who records and performs as a solo electronic artist. A graduate of The Juilliard School, she creates music that spans both contemporary and cinematic worlds, applying conservatory training to modern pop sensibility. As a solo artist, the NYC to LA transplant is known for her emotive pop, dreamy synths, and ethereal vocals.

This past year, BECA scored the short film Smashed, which was a finalist in Women In Media’s CAMERAderie Initiative 2020-2021 program, and received an award for Excellence in Music Composition. She composed a song for the upcoming feature film iMordecai (in post-production - starring Judd Hirsch, Carol Kane, and Sean Aston). Currently, she is scoring the psychological thriller feature Anne, With Love (in post-production - starring Blaine Morris, Danielle Harris, and Mena Suvari).

Releasing numerous records under her solo electronic project via UK label This Is Music Ltd and independently, BECA’s concerts have spanned the US, Europe, and Mexico, including festivals SXSW, Sundance Film Festival, NYC Pride, POP Montreal, and NXNE. Over 50 radio stations have aired her music including NPR’s The Essentials and LA’s famed KCRW. She has been featured in numerous press outlets including Consequence of Sound, Galore Mag, and Stereogum, among others.

Schack’s songs have been licensed to television shows including Bones, Made in Chelsea, Dance Moms, The Young & The Restless, and has worked with music libraries such as MPATH’s Phenomenal Women Series, APM, and CrimeSonics. She has written, produced and performed songs for brand partnerships with Boots 17 Makeup and Bounty, the latter gaining over 20M views on Tik Tok for her song Quicker Picker Upper.

BECA started winning public recognition for her compositions at age eleven at ASCAP's Young Composers competitions and studied composition with Samuel Adler and Pulitzer Prize/Grammy winner Christopher Rouse at Juilliard, where she earned a Bachelor of Music. She started forging her own path toward electronic music while studying with multi-instrumentalist / composer Elliott Sharp and attending The Dartington Music Festival in Devon, England - melding electro-acoustic elements and vocals with classical instrumentation. Commissions include ensembles ranging from brass quintet, women’s choir, to symphonic band, and electric violin and tape.
